Lassen Volcanic National Park is California’s mini Yellowstone. It has a mix of different places to see so you don’t get bored. There are hydrothermal features like boiling springs and sulphur vents, cindercones, glacial lakes, and forests. I visited in June for one day and the weather was hot! My favorite place at this park was the famous Bumpass Hell trail which is 3 mile round trip hike. After the B.H. hike, I stopped by Lake Helen to eat lunch and cool down. Don’t forget to stop by Balancing Rock nearby Lake Helen. I made a quick stop at Castle Crags and then straight for Manzanita Lake. To get Mt. Lassen’s reflection in the lake, you’ll need to be on a boat. Areas that I didn’t visit but plan to in the future are: Sulphur Works, Kings Creeks Fall, and Cinder Cone.
