Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park is a large park with hiking trails that provide great view of Coyote lake and the cities of Gilroy and San Martin. The featured trail starts at the 3rd parking lot with the boating launch ramp at Bear Ranch entrance. From the parking lot restrooms, the trail starts once you cross the street. Head for the shaded tree area where you will see trail marker for the Ohlone trail. Once you reach the Y-intersection, you can either take the Coyote Ridge trail on the right or the Calaveras Ridge trail to the left. Coyote Ridge Trail has a wider path and is more hilly with views of the surrounding cities whereas Calaveras Ridge Trail is narrow, no incline, and features lake views. I did this loop clockwise, but I would recommend counter clockwise because I found myself turning my head a lot to take pictures. The drive to the park from the highway exit did take a little longer than I expected but I was rewarded with less people.
