Sabercat Creek Trail
Castillejo Way & Via Orinda
Fremont, CA
another entrance is Quema Dr & Paseo Padre Pkwy
(There are different access points, but the first one listed has a parking lot and bathroom)
Hours:  sunrise to sunset

Sabercat Creek Trail is owned by the city of Fremont and is located in a residential area.  It completely paved and the trail is mostly shaded.  There are a variety of plants and houses you see as you walk the trail. I saw many squirrels and a couple of turkeys while I was there.  Signs display the history of the area, one in particular talked about how a group of Hayward students found many fossils here from the Irvingtonian age.  The whole trail is 1.8 mile long but you can extend if you decide to walk to the nearby Old Mission Park or all the way to Bell Quarry.

End of the paved trail, this will take you to see Highway 680 from above
