The bridge is a part of the Turtle Bay Exploration park and is classified as is a cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge, which basically means that it is safe to walk on. The deck of the bridge is made of some sort of glass panels which I doubt you’d be able to break by jumping on it repeatedly. However, if you somehow fall off the bridge you will land in the Sacramento River. The sundial is one of the largest in the world, however due to the size it only records 4 hours a day. You can watch as the shadow moves to tell time but only do so if it is sunny outside. The Sundial Bridge is iconic to Redding as the Golden Gate is to San Francisco.
